Mathew Adds to Research Portfolio with Paper on Impact of Regulation Fair Disclosure
by Jennifer Kroll
Prem Mathew, Assistant Professor of Finance, adds to his impressive research portfolio with his latest and most significant publication to date in the field of finance. "An Examination of the Differential Impact of Regulation FD on Analysts' Forecast Accuracy" was published in the February issue of The Financial Review.
This article is part of Mathew's stream of research regarding the impact of Regulation Fair Disclosure. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission established Regulation Fair Disclosure in October 2000, in an effort to prevent companies from selectively distributing pre-earnings announcement guidance in order to influence analysts' forecasts. The paper shows the correlation between analysts' forecast accuracy prior to the implementation of Regulation Fair Disclosure, and their subsequent inaccuracies. |
