 Rene Reitsma has been invited to attend the 35th anniversary celebration and conference of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) to be held in Vienna, Austria in November. IIASA's conference, Global Development: Science and Policies for the Future, will focus on the current trends in global development and explore the human and environmental realities of the coming decades that should and must drive policy making today (http://www.iiasa.ac.at/iiasa35/).
The IIASA is an international research organization that conducts inter-disciplinary scientific studies on environmental, economic, technological, and social issues in the context of human dimensions of global change. It is the only non-political, trans-boundary research institute of its kind. In its beginnings, it was the only institute that had government funded researchers from all over the world, including both sides of the iron curtain, working together to solve global issues. |
