Wu Received L.L. Stewart Faculty Development Award

By Jennifer Kroll

Zhaohui WuZhaohui Wu, an assistant professor in the OSU College of Business, has recently received the L.L. Stewart Faculty Development Award.

The award was designed to promote excellence in teaching at Oregon State University, through supporting faculty members who develop proposals that will increase their effectiveness as teachers, as well as offer innovative programs for students.

Wu's objective is to develop a Supply Chain Management course that focuses on strategies for businesses to establish sustainable practices that incorporate environmental issues. Areas of importance include product design, production, and logistics.

"I also believe that teaching this course will provide me a great opportunity to improve my teaching skills as a new faculty. Being able to teach topics I have a lot of experience with from my research motivates me to explore innovative teaching methods, and try out different pedagogues," Wu adds.

The grant, totaling $2,200, will be used to pay stipends for two students, Teresa Miller and Saurabh Agrawals, who will be conducting research for developing the curriculum.

The award was established in 2005 by Mr. & Mrs. Loran L. "Stub" Stewart.
