Business Research Team Receives AT&T Environmental Fellowship Grant
Business faculty Zhaohui Wu of Oregon State University, Jacob Park of Green Mountain College, and Joseph Sarkis of Clark University received a $25,000 grant from AT&T’s Industrial Ecology Faculty Fellowship program. The award will support the team’s project, "Understanding Business and Environmental Value Opportunities in the Global Supply Chain of China's Information and Communication Technology Industry," which looks at end-of-life waste management regulations and practices in China’s telecommunications sector.
Wu and his colleagues are working with three electronics and home appliances producers in China to understand and improve the closed-loop supply chains. “E-waste is the most significant chemical hazard nowadays, and it’s a very urgent and hot topic in supply chain management and how companies in China are dealing with it because the country is both the biggest production location and market,” said Wu. |
