Succession Planning Focus of 2007 Austin Family Business Conference The 2007 Austin Family Business Conference, held on May 22nd at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower, was attended by 45 business professionals, family business owners, and potential family business successors. The conference titled “It’s Your Turn: Succession Planning for Baby Boomers,” was developed in light of the fact that within the next year, the first group of Baby Boomers will begin to draw social security. OSU Accounting Students Excel Nationally in CPA Exam for Second Year in a Row Compared to the national rate of 29 percent, recently published results show that 44 percent of Oregon State University's students passed the Certified Public Accounting exam. In addition, OSU ranked fifth in the nation in one of the four portions of the exam for first-time candidates without advanced degrees. International Exchange Celebrates 20th Anniversary The College of Business recently hosted a full day of activities to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the International Exchange Program (IEP) with the Aarhus School of Business in Denmark. The day began with a conference titled “Doing Business in the Pacific Rim.” The evening was a celebration dinner for everyone involved in the IEP, with special dignitaries present from Denmark.
