The Business Solutions Group (BSG) uses the latest technology from Microsoft and other companies resulting in less code, fewer bugs, better solutions, and lower costs.

Examples of BSG-developed applications:

BSG student testersThe BSG development environment is state-of-the-art. All development and testing is done on non-production servers that mirror production data. Visual Source Safe is used for code check in and out, ensuring full code version control. A bug tracking and development portal is maintained for all projects which enables developers to remain current on the status of any project or critical issue. The BSG development strategy uses a multi-tiered architecture with SQL server for structured data, and XML for unstructured data, Windows 2003 servers for .Net distributed and web applications, and Active Directory for authentication and security.

Our integration of Microsoft components and use of industry standards allows BSG to teach students how to rapidly build, extend or enhance applications and quickly respond to the issues and needs of our customers.  Object oriented development, Visual Studio.Net, XML, and extreme programming are a few of the techniques used by BSG developers. The net result is a dramatic reduction in the amount of code necessary to create high quality, custom software meeting the business needs of clients. This efficiency in code means fewer bugs are created and the process for developing new applications is greatly accelerated.
