The Oregon State University College of Business offers a one-term exchange program at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
Background
Chulalongkorn University (Chula) is the oldest and one of the most prestigious universities in Thailand. The 500 acre campus is located in the center of the capital city of Bangkok.
Both the university and the faculty enjoy excellent relationships with universities all over the world. There are about 2300 undergraduate students in Chula's Commerce and Accountancy program, along with approximately 1200 graduate students. This program is recognized as being one of the best programs of its type in the country and expresses the university's commitment to Thailand, the Asia-Pacific region and the global community.
The Commerce and Accountancy Program has three primary objectives:
Thailand means "Land of the Free" and its combination of cultures and backgrounds make it a popular and memorable country to visit. It is a country rich in natural beauty as evidenced by the pristine beaches, tropical islands, remote jungles and expansive natural parks.

The Chula academic program runs Semester One from August through December. Students who complete the study program will fill all requirements for an International Business Option. There is also flexibility within the program for business students not pursuing an IB option. All courses are taught in English. Living Arrangements
On-campus facilities are available for visiting overseas students, however priority is given to international students who stay to study the full year. The International Office at Chula works with the students in helping them secure off-campus housing. Suggested living facilities are discussed with the students during the spring term orientation class. Temporary homestays are also available. You will also experience a friendship program and a cultural exchange program to help you get acquainted to both the people and culture of Thailand.
Cost
Students pay tuition to OSU for their semester of study at Chula. OSU Student fees are waived. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee submitted with application and a $250 non-refundable program fee payable after acceptance. Living expenses are generally a little less than in Oregon. The main additional cost is airfare. Costs will vary depending on the exchange rate for U.S. dollars at the time of the program and personal spending habits. Additional travel is the responsibility of the student.
Financial Aid
Most financial aid that students are eligible to receive (Guaranteed Student Loans, Pell Grants, Veteran's benefits) is applicable to this exchange program. FINANCIAL AID IS NOT AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS UNTIL CLASSES BEGIN AT OSU, so students must plan accordingly. There are also study abroad scholarships available for those students with excellent academic records. Contact the Office of International Education (Snell Hall-444, 737-3006) for more information. College of Business Scholarships are also available.
