Passport:
This is at the top of the to-do list for a reason, especially if you do not have a passport already. The average turn around time for passports is about a month once you submit your application. In dire cases you can have your passport application expedited, but the total application and processing fee increases by about fifty percent if you require speedy processing. In turn for paying a fifty percent premium above normal price, expedited processing shortens the turn around time to about two weeks.

Note: Passport Photos
If you need to apply for a passport, that probably means you will be needing passport photos taken. It would be a good idea to get between six and ten passport photos taken. Not only will you need some for your passport application, but you'll be asked to provide one for you VISA, Application to City University, and your Housing Application. Passport photos will also come in handy for other things in Hong Kong, like your personal MTR card. So taking extras with you will be a real convenience. |
