Overview

Oregon State University first began sending students to the City University of Hong Kong (CityU for short) in the fall of the year 2000. The exchange is for one OSU term only, which coincides with CityU's Semester A.

City University was founded in 1984 on Hong Kong's Kowloon Peninsula. The campus is quite compact by OSU standards, but CityU boasts nearly 18,000 full-time and part-time students, more than 100 academic programs, a faculty of about 900 full-time academic staff and 400 part-time research staff members. City University is an English speaking school, all classes are taught in English.

As eluded to before, City University operates on a semester schedule. A typical semester is comprised of thrteen weeks of classes, plus an additional 3 weeks of for end of semester revision and examinations. Classes for Semester A usually start at the begining of September, and final examinations are scheduled to end in th latter part of December.

Those students who participate in the exchange to the City University of Hong Kong, and successfully complete the program will fulfill all requirements for an International Business Option.

Applications for exchange are due to the College of Business in mid January.
