Practical Information for you!
- Kitchen equipment, blankets, pillows, lamps, telephones, etc. are available for you to use, as past exchange students have left this for you. Check with the Office of Student Services in 214 Bexell Hall when you arrive for information on how and when these goods will be made available.
- Textbooks can be purchased at the MU Bookstore, however, you might be able to purchase the books online for less money. Check out these websites: www.amazon.com or www.bn.com
- Grocery Stores:
Safeway, SW. Third Street, Corvallis
Fred Meyers, 777 Kings Blvd., Corvallis.
WinCo Foods, 2335 NW. Kings Blvd., Corvallis
- Remember that Oregon is one of the two states in the U.S. that does not have sales tax!
- The weather in Corvallis is nice from September through October with warm and sunny days, but November is when it starts to get cold and rainy, and in December you may see snow. So bring a raincoat and some warm clothes for November and December!
Corvallis is located approximately one hour from the coast, one and a half hours from Portland and one and a half hours from ski areas.
