Students wanting a graduate-level business education have a variety of options.
The MBA program focuses on entrepreneurship and innovation. Graduates completing the MBA program will be able to create, build and manage innovative, socially responsible enterprises in a global business environment. To achieve this learning outcome, candidates must demonstrate an ability to: develop an investor-ready business plan, present a compelling argument for funding, formulate strategies to be competitive in an international business environment, manage innovative and creative organizations and evaluate the implications of applying concepts of sustainability, ethics and social responsibility to managerial decisions.
The MBA emphasizes experiential learning, culminating with an integrated business project (IBP) with business partners. The IBP is a cross-disciplinary team-based opportunity to pursue a new venture or to work with an existing firm in starting a new venture. The IBP serves as the thesis for the graduate degree and results in a business plan that integrates the MBA curriculum. The completed business plans are presented to professional venture managers and venture capitalists at an Annual MBA Business Plan Competition.
A Master of Business and Engineering (MBE) degree program combines graduate level courses in both engineering and business. The program, resulting in an engineering degree, features an equal number of graduate-level engineering and business courses enabling engineers to enter the knowledge economy with a business background as well.
The Oregon Executive MBA (OEMBA) program, offered with UO and PSU in Portland, focuses on business theory and practice for strategic decision-making in a competitive, global economy. The program is tailored to working professionals. |
