Migrating email and files to ONID
The College of Business will stop providing students and alumni with email or file storage service as of the start of summer 2008. This change is part of a long-term strategy to simplify the computing experience for students and eliminate duplicate accounts that require multiple log-on identities. Instead of using College of Business accounts, students will use university-provided ONID (Oregon State Network ID) email and file storage systems.
This page explains the changes and gives instructions for migrating your existing email messages and files to your ONID account. While these changes will stop providing specific services (which is always painful), it is part of a larger strategy begun in 2001 with the creation of ONID accounts to make the computing experience for OSU students easier and better.
All services currently provided by the College of Business are also provided by the ONID accounts. Every student already has an ONID account with email, file storage and basic web hosting. For more information about your ONID account go to http://onid.oregonstate.edu.

Migrating email and files
If you have email in your COB mailbox or files on the College of Business file server, you should move them before we discontinue service on June 20, 2008. We understand people may need help with the migration process. The lab assistants in the Bexell student computer lab have been trained in these instructions and can provide help. You can also contact the College of Business help desk through email or by phone at 541-737-0947.
We strongly encourage people to move email messages and files before June 20th .... but we know some people will be caught off guard. For this reason, we will backup and maintain copies of all email messages and file storage areas.
