 | | | | Programming Summer Intern – Apply ASAPDuties and Responsibilities:
Saltire Software (http://www.saltire.com) has received supplemental funding for a NSF research grant to fund an undergraduate intern for 12 weeks this summer. The grant deals with extending our current symbolic geometry system Geometry Expressions (http://www.geometryexpressions.com).
The project involves creating a front-end in Geometry Expressions that will communicate with a web site that hosts a catalog of pre-constructed geometric figures. A user will be able to browse the content of the website inside Geometry Expressions and import figures directly from the web into the program.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain real world experience programming a client-server application. You will be in charge of developing both the remote and local portions of the project as well as the communication between the two. The server portion will be created in PHP and the client will be done in C++ using wxWidgets.
If you have experience or relevant coursework with all or some of the following we'd like to hear from you: - C++ - PHP - wxWidgets / GUI programming - Databases (MySQL) - XML
