Duties and Responsibilities:
The 2009 Client Services (CS) Intern will be responsible for increasing awareness, usability and overall value of the Client Services Sharepoint Knowledge Bases. Key activities expected over the nine-week Internship are as follows:
· Hold introductory meetings and develop a working understanding of Sharepoint.
· Develop and confirm a set of questions that will allow him or her to understand WHS business, work flow and objectives for Sharepoint.
· Interview key CS members, consolidate and synthesize input, document and present options and priorities that will form the basis of a specific plan and deliverables that will add maximum value to CS leadership.
· Document and evaluate the CS website taxonomy.
· Identify structural or other changes that would improve usability for specific stakeholders (e.g. Account Managers, Business Analysts, etc.)
· Inventory content
· Identify content gaps, content that should be edited and out-of-date content.
· Confirm ownership of various site elements
· Document and present recommendations
· Implement highest priority changes approved by Client Services leadership
· Present changes and outstanding recommendations to entire CS team.
Experience:
· Significant education or work experience in Website design or another Computer Science discipline.
· Strong organizational, analytic and quantitative skills
· Demonstrated ability to develop detailed plans, coordinate multiple activities within projects and successfully deliver complete and polished deliverables.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Professional presence and technical credibility
· Availability during all normal WHS business hours

Job Summary
Web Design is part of WebMD's Project Management Group. Our designers are responsible for the appearance and usability of WebMd's Web-based products. They assist in the development of new products and contribute to enhancing and maintaining existing products. The UI design process requires creating prototypes, outlining proposed functionality, building design concepts, and charting user flow for our products, as well as crafting the "look and feel" for customer Web sites used by our clients. The Design staff also works with Marketing and Sales on support materials, including brochures, product demonstrations, and sales collateral.
DESIGN INTERN:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Depending upon the skill-set and experience of the prospective Design Intern, as well as internal prioritization, a subset of the below activities will fall within his/her area of responsibility:
· Client content conversion: Intern will be responsible for taking client provided documents and converting them to HTML, with appropriate styles, images and formatting applied.
· Project QA: Intern will be responsible for reviewing and correcting the final content as produced by other resources.
· Preliminary Client Design: Intern will be responsible for producing a variety of client design projects, as directed by the Art Director. Projects will include screenshots, emails, newsletters, weblets, etc.
· Client maintenance: Intern will be responsible for evaluating and providing solutions for bugs, enhancements and other client maintenance issues as directed by the Art Director.
Experience:
· Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
· Working knowledge of web design software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and Dreamweaver.
· Communication and organizational skills
· Ability to work independently, multi-task and meet deadlines is expected.
· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
MARKETING/PUBLIC RELATIONS:
Job Description and Requirements: Depending upon the skill-set and experience of the prospective Marketing Coordinator/Intern, as well as internal prioritization, a subset of the below activities will fall within his/her area of responsibility:
· Speaking Promotion: Work with internal/external resources to refine speaking abstracts, prepare speaker biographies, establish a presentation library, communicate and implement process, and maintain the speaking calendar.
· Communications: Work with functional stakeholders to harvest, consolidate, and communicate news, events, and developments via the WHS Internal Newsletter.
· Competitive Analysis: Evaluate 3-5 top competitors, including their web presence, to gauge how we compare in terms of design, messaging, and functionality; assume role in competitive news monitoring and updates.
· Lead Generation (RFP): Work with RFP team to update identified content within KnowledgeBase, including stakeholder biographies, etc.
· PR/Communications: Prospect for relevant industry awards, review submission requirements, work with internal SME's/stakeholders to complete, and coordinate submission.
· Web Promotion: Develop a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) plan and implement a Search Engine Marketing (SEM) initiative to drive awareness, interest, and leads.
· Sales Support: Work with external agency and internal contacts to develop a plan that focuses on optimizing Sharepoint (design, usability); implement plan and re-launch site.
Qualifications:
· Academic experience within the marketing discipline
· Good communication skills, both written and oral
· MS Office experience, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
Employment Begins:
June 29th - August 28th
Job Location:
Portland, OR.
Wage Range:
$10-$14/hr
