Business Coordinator of River Java to start ASAPThe coffee cart is intended to teach youth and our Alternative ED students employability skills. Many of our youth have never been employed so we focus on 10 specific work readiness indicators along with customer service and basic small business operations. The students are also eligible to obtain school credit towards their high school diploma. The coffee cart name is River Java. It is located in Two Rivers Market, downtown Albany. The address is: 250 Broadalbin SW. Operation hours are 7:30- 3:30, Monday- Friday.
Description:
· Help market the business
· Design a marketing plan/strategy to make this a viable business
· Build customer relations
· Make sure the business is ready, clean, neat and orderly and/or make suggestions for improvement.
· Make sure employees are trained
· Help supervise youth. Provide mentorship for the youth
· Communicate with the owner of the business
· Make sure business meets the necessity of all codes
· Correct problems and communicate both the problems and corrections with Community Services Consortium.
Qualifications:
· Marketing students preferred
· Interest in operating a small business and helping it become self supporting
· A self starter
· Interest in supervision/mentor role with youth
· Love of coffee, though not required, is highly desired
Hours/Compensation:
10- 20 hours per week
