Women's Center Coordinator

Women's Center Coordinator Position Description

Qualifications:

v Must be a currently enrolled student at Oregon State University for at least 6 undergraduate academic credits or 3 graduate academic credits.

v Preference given to students with work-study funding (not required).

v Must be in good academic standing for the term prior to selection and during the entire period of employment.

v Must have a demonstrated knowledge of women's issues and feminism.

v Must exhibit sensitivity toward traditionally underrepresented groups (such as students of color, LGBTQQIA students, and differently-abled students).

v Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above (undergraduate) and 3.0 or above (graduate).

v Must not be on disciplinary probation.

v Must be a regularly admitted OSU student.

All Coordinators work regular shifts at the Center, including:

General Job Responsibilities:

v Greet, inform, and refer visitors as needed.

v Regularly use and respond to WC email and listserves.

v Answer and respond to WC phone calls.

v Receive and sort incoming mail.

v Check out and shelve library materials.

v Maintain front desk.

v Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, back room, and community space.

v Assist in maintaining postings, events, and resource bulletin board, as well as other reference materials.

v Assist in the planning and implementation of events that represent relevant local, national, and global women's issues (e.g. domestic violence awareness, sexual responsibility, and queer pride).

v Participate in mandatory orientation/training including:

o Spring Orientation: Spring Term-Dates TBD (on-campus)

o Fall Training: Week Long Staff Training third week in September (on-campus)

o November In-Service: Saturday day long training-Dates TBD

o January Retreat: Friday-Sunday first weekend in January (off-campus)

v One Credit Elective Course in the Spring for Cultural Center/Resource Center Coordinators (optional but strongly suggested)

Additionally, each member of the staff holds one of the following specific roles, and performs the corresponding responsibilities:

Office Coordinator

Publications Coordinator

Marketing Coordinator

Outreach & Activism Coordinator

Volunteer & Recognition Coordinator

Program Coordinator

Administrative Assistant

Web Coordinator
