Associate Web Analyst, Network Traffic Management– Deadline: Apply ASAP

How Big can you think?

The Associate Network Traffic Manager will have responsibility for developing deep and broad understanding of Yahoo!'s Front Page (www.yahoo.com) - the world's most visited web site with over 500 million unique users per month - and how user behavior on the page translates into massive volumes of traffic that are monetized by Yahoo!'s various businesses.

While the key output of the Associate Network Traffic Manager will be to assist in providing regular traffic forecasts and reports used by Yahoo! to make business-critical decisions globally, the inputs will include users' historic behavioral data, customer value, longitudinal and seasonal trends, 3rd-party research, and data from product testing.

As such, this person will need to think strategically, learn and understand different business models, adapt to change quickly, and be able to effectively communicate through written and oral presentations different quantitative analyses, reports, and forecasts. Due to the quantitative requirements of this position, this person will need to be mathematically proficient, analytical, familiar with statistical methods, detail-oriented, personally organized, and intellectually curious while also effectively building and managing client-like relationships within Yahoo!. An ability to work collaboratively with others as well as independently on self-directed investigations is critical as is the aptitude to use both proven and improvised approaches to product analysis.

n Learning insights to support product optimization

Experience

n BA or BS degree
n 1-2 years professional work experience
n Excellent analytic skills using Excel and MicroStrategy
n Excellent written, oral, and listening skills
n Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
n Experience with population modeling preferred
n Computer science and natural science backgrounds given strong consideration
n Humanities backgrounds considered with proven non-financial analytic experience
n Experience with non-financial forecasting and modeling, user-level web metrics, reporting, and synthesis of multiple data sources valuable
