IT College-to-Hire API Program Deadline: Apply ASAP

About API College-to-Hire Program:

The API College-to-Hire is truly unique in that we offer recent college graduates an opportunity to gain real world technology training which they immediate apply to an Enterprise Environment. API supplies the training while PAYING program participants.

 

This Program is high profile, high visibility. VP's and Directors are keenly interested in the program. We know of no other entry-level, enterprise opportunity, where such attention has been garnered.

We are looking for Recent College Graduates (2006-2009)

API is searching for "next generation" IT Professionals who possess both the "technical DNA" and the interpersonal skills needed to be productive members of demanding Enterprise IT environments.  Candidates must be interested ALL areas of responsibility within the Enterprise domain.  For example: Programming and Software Development, Network Systems, Information Support and Services, Quality Assurance, Business Analysis and Project Management.

 

Once selected, participants are introduced to a real world, customer specific, training program. They quickly transition from training, to working on the floor in an Enterprise Environment. Strong coaching and mentoring techniques are then employed to ensure the success of each program participant.

 

Recent College-to-Hire Program Implementations

Business Analysts: We have trained and started our first group of Business Analysts for a major health care provider in the East Bay. 16 API employees have completed training and are working at locations in Pleasanton, Emeryville and Oakland.  Some or all will be transitioning to Full Time Employee status with the Health Care provider over the next 12 months.  Several UC Graduates are participating in this program

Peoplesoft Developers / Analysts: We have trained and started our second group of 16 program participants in Peoplesoft. These Peoplesoft Developers / Analysts will be working for the same health care provider in both Northern and Southern California locations.  Some or all will be transitioning to Full Time Employee status with the Health Care provider over the next 12 months. Several UC Graduates are participating in this program.

Current College-to-Hire Program


API is now searching for Class 3 and Class 4 program participants for this Major Health Care Provider. These classes will focus on the various roles & responsibilities of the IT professional in an Enterprise environment.

 

This opportunity is geared for Entry Level and Recent Graduate candidates interested in long term careers in Enterprise Health Care IT. 

 

Job Description:

v  Once selected, candidates will be undergo client customized training in two broad areas:

1.     Business Consultant / Analysis-Web Emphasis

§  Requirements

§  Use Cases

§  Quality Assurance

§  Project Management

§  Java/Java.Net

§  Production Support (Infrastructure / Release Management)

§  Documentation Management

§  Web Analytics

2.     Web Programmer Analyst

§  Quality Assurance

§  Project Management

§  Java/Java.Net

§  Production Support

§  Documentation Management

§  Web Analytics

 

Candidates will be offered an opportunity to work as a permanent full time employee for the Health Care Provider during 3, 6, 9, and 12 month milestones, should there be mutual interest.

Locations: Portland, Lake Oswego, Denver, Pasadena, Oakland

Qualifications:

Candidates must be FLEXIBLE TEAM PLAYERS IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS COLLEGE TO HIRE PROGRAM.  You may be asked to work in various roles at the outset. For instance, you may be asked to jump in and help Define User Requirements; you may be asked to jump into a Quality Assurance effort; or you may be asked join an Production Support / Release Management Effort.  CANDIDATES MUST HAVE THE PATIENCE and MATURITY TO UNDERSTAND THIS.
